Cream of Broccoli and Mushroom Soup

Cooking Time: 3½–8 hours
Ideal slow-cooker size: 5- or 6-qt.
8 oz. fresh mushrooms, sliced
2 lbs. fresh broccoli, chopped
3 (10¾-oz.) cans cream of broccoli soup
1 pint half-and-half
4 oz. extra-lean smoked ham, chopped
¼ tsp. black pepper
½ tsp. dried thyme leaves, crushed, optional
3 bay leaves, optional
1. Combine all ingredients in slow cooker.
2. Cook on Low for 4 to 5 hours or on High for 2 to 3 hours.
3. Remove bay leaves before serving, if using.
