The temperature in Michigan has really dropped this weekend. The bitter cold is making me crave a nice warm breakfast! So, today I’m bringing you this incredibly simple 5-Ingredient recipe for Breakfast Apples. It would make a great topping over your waffles, pancakes, or on top of oatmeal or yogurt. Who am I kidding?! This would be great on top of ice cream too!

Makes 4 servings
Prep Time: 10–15 minutes
Cooking Time: 2–8 hours
Ideal slow-cooker size: 3-qt.
4 medium-sized apples, peeled and sliced
¼ cup honey
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 Tbsp. melted coconut oil
2 cups dry gluten-free granola cereal
1. Place apples in your slow cooker.
2. Combine remaining ingredients. Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the apples.
3. Cover and cook on Low 6–8 hours, or overnight, or on High 2–3 hours.
4. Serve as a side dish to bacon and bagels, or use as a topping for waffles, French toast, pancakes, or cooked oatmeal.
TIP: Check the granola carefully. Many granolas have a lot of extra sugar added to them.
