One of my favorite meals to use the slow cooker for is breakfast! There is nothing like waking up to the smell of something sweetly cooking…and knowing you don’t have to do anything but consume it! Hahahaha!
I love to experiment with oatmeal and try and create new and interesting flavors. After some magic in the kitchen, I ended up making a recipe fro German Chocolate Oatmeal. With 6 simple ingredients, you’ll have a new breakfast favorite! My family loved it, so I hope you do too!

German Chocolate Oatmeal

Makes 4 servings
Prep. Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 6–8 hours
Ideal slow-cooker size: 3-qt.
2 cups steel cut oats
8 cups unsweetened coconut milk
¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
¼ tsp. kosher salt Brown sugar, to taste
sweetened shredded coconut, to taste
1. Spray crock with nonstick spray.
2. Place steel cut oats, coconut milk, cocoa powder, and salt into crock and stir to mix.
3. Cover and cook on Low for 6–8 hours.
4. To serve, top each bowl of oatmeal with desired amount of brown sugar and shredded coconut.
