Wow! My very first Fix-It and Forget-It blog post! This is truly exciting! If we haven’t had the pleasure of meeting yet, my name is Hope Comerford and I am the new author of Fix-It and Forget-It. I took over in March of 2016 and have been very busy writing cookbooks for all of you.
A little word about myself, then I’ll tell you all about the 3 new books! I am a mom, first and foremost! I’m also the wife of a wonderful husband since 2006. We have 2 amazing children together. I teach full-time as an elementary music teacher, but I’m also a huge essential oil enthusiast and spend a lot of time educating others on them. I’m also very passionate about eating healthy and working out. I’ve been an ALM Zone Fit Leader for the past several years. I began a blog called A Busy Mom’s Slow Cooker Adventures when my daughter was young. My husband and I were working full time and both working on our Master’s degrees at the same time. We found when we came home, we had no time to spend with our daughter after cooking and cleaning up. Long story short, I pulled out my slow cooker and it saved us! I began my blog to share my recipes with my friends and family and then things just kind of took off from there!
I wrote my first cookbook Slow Cooker Recipes 10 Ingredients or Less and Gluten-Free in 2013 and my second cookbook The Gluten Free Slow Cooker in 2015. When Fix-It and Forget-It contacted me to take over, it was honestly a dream come true! I’m still pinching myself every day!
Since taking over, I now have 3 Fix-It and Forget-It Cookbooks published with a 4th close behind! (Look for a post on that one soon!)
Fix-It and Forget-It Lazy and Slow was published in January 2017. It has 365 days of recipes, planned week by week, season by season, with a weekly dessert and side dish recipe included. At the beginning of each week, there is a menu with a shopping list. Each shopping list has a QR code, so you could upload it right to your smart phone for easy shopping. The concept of this book is to not have leftovers each week. You’ll make 2-3 main dishes and use the leftovers to create the remaining recipes so everything gets used up! This beautiful book makes planning meals for your entire year a cinch!
Fix-It and Forget-It Healthy Slow Cooker Cookbook was published on April 4, 2017. This book has 150 delicious and healthy recipes, with pictures for each recipe. This book has something for everyone, but especially for those with special dietary needs. Each recipe is labeled to indicate if it is gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, nut-free, low-sugar, paleo, low-fat, vegetarian or vegan. It’s a truly wonderful collection of recipes I think anyone will enjoy!
Fix-It and Forget-It Favorite Slow Cooker Recipes for Mom was published on April 11, 2014. This is a collection of 150 recipes, each with a picture, mom will love to make or love to eat….or both! These recipes are perfect for busy schedules and tight budgets! If you’re not sure what to get Mom this year, give her a book full of delicious recipes that will create more memories!
