Breast Cancer Awareness Month starts in just 5 days, and this year we have a special reason to be excited about that.
October 1 also marks the date when the Fix-It and Forget-It Pink Cookbook will be on sale everywhere in both print and e-formats. If you can’t wait until October 1, and want to buy your copy right now, click here. Remember, a minimum of one dollar for every copy sold will be donated by the publisher to The Avon Foundation for Women Breast Cancer Crusade.
We want to include you in the excitement by giving away one of our favorite slow cookers. The All-Clad 6.5-quart programmable slow cooker features High and Low settings, and automatically switches to Keep Warm when time elapses. That means dinner is ready when you are. The removable black ceramic insert provides gentle uniform heat to create richly flavored soups, stews, casseroles, and braised meats. Both the insert and the tempered glass lid are dishwasher-safe.
(All-Clad doesn’t know that we’re giving away this slow cooker.)

Hi!
When I had my baby last December, some friends brought us home-made chicken noodle soup – made with home-made noodles
Hello – I made crockpot chicken with potatoes and veggies for a friend that
had brain surgery.
I love to use the crockpot for many different recipes.
I made my mom and dad a pot roast when mom had surgery! I also use it every 5th Sunday at church for potluck. My crock pot gets used at least once a week. Love it!
My sister has extreme health problems, but she is always doing something wonderful for the family members, or the church. When she was battling cancer, and said that food didn’t taste very good, she kept talking about my Buffalo Chicken Noodle Soup. My husband and I plotted to get her house key, and I cooked the soup in her crockpot while she was at work. When she got home, exhausted from work, she was met at the door with the wonderful smell of the soup, and the realization that cooking was one less thing between her and her bed for the night. She still talks about it, and I have decided to do it again. Love the smile on her face when she talks about it!!
When I was getting ready to have surgery a few years ago, my good friend Leslie made me several meals that we could just heat and eat. One of them was white chicken Enchiladas, they were some of the best enchiladas I had ever eaten! When I was feeling better I asked her to share the recipe with me.
Sausage with noodles and cheese, sooo good…….
Hi , i use my crockpot all the time so much easier to put something in and
at the end of the day you have dinner waiting…so a new one would be great…
thanks
Hi!!! I made a Pork/beef stoup for my mom and dad, she was just out of the hospital from knee surgery. They were leery at first but really enjoyed it!

Hi there,
We are unbelievable busy every spring Operating our Nursery/greenhouse. My mother in law Brings me Ymmy batches of Chili and goulash to help out!
It is a wonderful feeling to know that after a long day you can just take a shower, eat and rest! Thanks, Barb M.
Love the fix it and forget it cookbooks. I use mine all the time!
love all the new and different features
I love to make and freeze soup so I always have a gift ready to give to someone in need
love the crockpot!!!! I could do some damage with that one
French Dip with beer broth au jus!!!
I made a french toast bake for a friend who had just had a baby. Her husband was deployed to the Middle East and she also had a three-year-old to care for. I made a big enough batch it lasted them a couple days and it was so delicious!
My sister recently had a baby, I made her a few freezer meals. I think her favorite was the mushroom and wild rice soup
When I had my last baby, a neighbor brought me a whole roasted chicken, with red potatoes and carrots. STILL HOT! It was soooo wonderful and so much appreciated <3
Taco soup!
Hi!!
Chicken Noodle soup.
I love the stainless steel slow cooker!
Super nice Hope I win !!!!!!
I was really sick last year and a friend of ours brought by a weeks worth of meals and folded the laundry! She is awesome!
I recently made Italian Wedding soup for my in laws during a flu outbreak. It warmed everyone’s hearts and was good for the flu. I could not do it without my crockpot.
Great cookbooks!!!
A friend brought over a simple casserole, rolls, and dessert after my hysterectomy. Since my husband doesn’t cook, I still say this was the best meal I’ve ever had. It’s the little things in life that mean so much.
When my family all had the flu, I made us all chicken soup, the country cure-all, and we enjoyed it.
would love to have one.
Made Chicken Tortilla soup in my slow cooker for a friend who couldn’t be on her feet for a couple of weeks. Smelled so good, I had to make some for my family the next day!
Chicken Enchilada Soup is always a favorite to take to a friend!!
My father was house bound during his final years and I would always keep the slow cooker going in the house. This is going to sound strange and not really a mean but he loved it when I made spiced cider. He sipped it all the time because his meds made his throat dry and it made the house smell fabulous! Regardless if I win or not, thanks for the memory.
For a friend/coworker death in the family I made my version of chicken and dumplings in the crock pot. She enjoyed it and it made her think of all the times her mother would make it from scratch on the stove. Nothing like a warm bowl of something good to warm the soul.
My housemate went to a local butcher shop and got ground bison and ground elk, along with fresh made italian sausage, came home and made this amazing chili. We were eating it for 3-4 days after.
The Pink giveaway looks neat too
As a matter of fact I have a roast in the slow cooker right now! I am using it to make “taco beef” and then taking the meat and some taco fixings over to a friends house who has a teenage son in the hospital this week.
Whenever I am sick, I crave the same thing. My grandmother’s chicken and sausage gumbo. She tries to keep it in her freezer because she knows someone is going to need it! It is a simple recipe, and I have made it many times, but when I am sick, hers is the best, and it makes me feel better.
I made sausage and spinach stuffed butternut squash and a plum tart for a friend who just had a baby. She didn’t need to worry about cooking at the time!
I received Crock Pot Italian chicken when recovering from my last baby. I in turn have made it for sick and recovering friends and family members every chance I get.
Hi ! Love my old crockpot (from the 90′s) but would like a larger one too !:)
I absolutely LOVE cooking in meals in a slow cooker! It’s so convenient for a working mom with three kids!
I made homemade potato soup, for my grandma when she was down. It warmed my heart to see her face when she realized it was her own recipe!
Looks like a VERY nice slow cooker. I want one!!
Hi!!!
When i had the flu, my mom made me homemade chicken noodle soup! Best ever and even better when it’s from mom!
I love making homemade chicken soup (with homemade stock, made in a slow cooker!) for my friends when they are ill. The BEST meal I had was the day after I came home from the hospital after giving birth to my son. A friend made me homemade jambalaya – full of fresh veggies and turkey sausage. It was truly restorative, after hospital food and going through labor and recovery.
When I had surgery I had several of my friend bring me meals so that my husband did not have to cook after a long day at work and did not have to spend time in the kitchen. I have the best friends ever. My husband just cracked my crockpot
my corned beef in the crock pot for a friend’s blue day
When I was laid up someone brought over lasagna rolls. They were delicious.
Love that crock pot! In the winter, I use the crock pot three days a week or more!
Love cooking this way! Especially coming home after a long day & knowing dinner is ready:)
When I just came home from the hospital (after having given birth), friends of mine brought over a pan of chicken enchilladas!
I love good comfort food. When my grandma passed away a couple of years ago, a friend brought us a big tub of spaghetti and garlic bread. It was yummy! Any casseroles or soups are awesome too!
After my mother had back surgery, our pastors brought us a wonderful honey mustard chicken with sides of mashed potatoes and asparagus, some delightful artisan bread with jam and the most important . . . chocolate for dessert. It was the perfect mix of healthy, filling, comforting, easy and delicious!
Both my mother and my cousin brought me a week’s worth of foods when I was diagnosed with kidney failure…all were “renal-friendly” meals.
My favorite was the pork chop and rice!
I once made stuffed pasta shells for a friend who had just had a baby. Her husband raved and raved about them. That recipe was a favorite of our family too.
love crockpots, can never have to many!!!
No better way to end the day, than coming home to a perfectly cooked meal.
Hi awesome cook books
Hi! I made delicious chicken soup in my crockpot for my next door neighbor who was fighting breast cancer at the time, and my neighbor across the street who just had a minor surgical procedure. This was on the same day.
This is the most awesome idea ever and I am so glad that Fix it and Forget it is heading this up. Awesome job ladies…..
