Did You See This?
Summer Kick Off Giveaway – May 20, 2013
We are in the home stretch! We are driving with the windows down

July is National Hot Dog Month. While we would never tout hot dogs as the foundation of a healthy diet, we’re not food purists, either. Turns out the ancient Greeks knew a thing or two about hot dogs too (or at least about cooking sausages), and what could be more civilized than that? So go ahead: toss a couple of franks on the grill, enclose in the roll of your choice, slather on the ketchup or sauerkraut, and enjoy summer’s quintessential cookout food.
Hot dogs can also serve as a platform for any number of toppings, and come in all sorts of regional variations. Check out Heaping Hot Dog Sandwiches (pictured above), from Fix-It and Forget-It Kids’ Cookbook. How do you “do” dogs in your neck of the woods?
Where do you find the Heaping Hot Dog Sandwiches recipe? I clicked on the kids cookbook…… and it won’t let me find it.
The link to the recipe, featured in a September 2011 blog post, has been added above. Enjoy!
