Dessert a la Paris

In the heat, a nice cold, creamy dessert is lovely. Of course, ice cream seems to be the standard summer dessert. But don’t forget custards, puddings, and mousses. Properly chilled, they are as lovely as ice cream.

To make your next cold, creamy dessert even more special, consider garnishing it with cocoa crumbs. We came across this recipe, introduced and explained by Dorie Greenspan in Paris, who speculates that the crumbs may be the latest food trend in Paris. The cocoa crumbs are essentially a streusel that you bake ahead of time and sprinkle on the dessert of your choosing. Think of them as croutons for the salad, or cheese for the spaghetti. We’re going to try a batch – let us know if you do, too!
