Summer has come. The cows are out at pasture, though perhaps not terribly excited to be out in the heat of the day.

We feel like those cows: hot, lazy, looking for a change, and ready for some excitement.
Well, how about another giveaway?
Because so many of you were excited about the Cow Dutch Oven in our recent giveaway, we decided to give another one to one (1) lucky, random winner!
This Dutch Oven is completely functional but much more fun than its round or oval counterparts.
Dutch ovens are the original slow-cooker and every Staub Dutch oven is handmade with incredible care. (For more information on Staub Dutch ovens, check out what we wrote last fall.) This particular Staub beast holds up to 8 quarts of your favorite foods so you can definitely cook for a crowd!
(Staub doesn’t know that we are stirring up excitement this summer with this beefy giveaway.)

We’re going to Pittsburgh to eat at Primanti Brothers.
Our plans are to enjoy our air-conditioning anytime it is hotter than 92 degrees. It seems like we’ve been doing a lot of that this summer! Cooler days will find us enjoying our campsite as often as possible.
Haven’t decided what to do yet, but would like to do something special for our 40th wedding aniversary on July 29.
I accidently found a $1 coupon for Reynolds SlowCooker Liners (box of 4). They are at Walmart for $1.96 less $1 coupon = .96 for 4. You can’t beat that deal (I bought 8 boxes). The coupon is good thru August. It will let you print 2 coupons per computer.

We went to in-laws for a week in mid June. We are thinking about going to Great Wolf Lodge for a few days, no set date yet. We also lost our dog this past spring, so we are looking into getting a puppy this summer(from a shelter or rescue) after that going away afterward getting a new puppy is not realistic.
Planning to go to a few local places and a few pools (it is hot summers). That is the cutest dutch oven I have ever seen!
I plan on staying in the AC during these steamy summer days. Too hot to do much outside and my youngest is only 4 months, too young for sunblock.
No vacation plans, taking the kids to some rock concerts in Edmonton a couple weekends this summer, other than that we’ll just be spending time in the backyard, playing with the dogs, enjoying the sunshine, pool and backyard hot dog roasts!!
Looks likw there won’t be a vacation, unless you call having a couple of days off and getting caught up on household chores a vacation!

The White Mtn in Show Low, Az
Any where with air conditioning!
I live in the Pacific North West, so “hot days of summer” is not something we have around here. That being said, we are going to the Sonoma area of California for a family wedding . Prior to that, we are going to visit Santa Cruz and have some fun at the Boardwalk!
Here in Central Oregon we have two seasons, winter and August, so we take what we can get with when it warms up here. Our summer so far has taken us to Bryce and Zion National Parks and later this summer we’ll be cruising the Baltic for the first time.
Make my way around Lancaster fabric shops and come home and sew the hot days away!
Spend more time outside this summer and get pictures of everything I see.
My husband and I recently moved from Los Angeles to Kentucky! We purchased a farmhouse and are enjoying the work of restoring it. My vacation will be spent here working on our mini-farm but it still feels like vacation since we’re slower paced and learning to slow down!
Read!
Our summer plans will include going to “rendezvous”, a re-enactment of the pre-1840 get-togethers where free trappers sold their year’s supply of furs and purchased supplies to take back into the wild for another year. This involves wearing period clothing, camping in canvas tipis or lodges, and, yes, COOKING WITH CAST-IRON POTS over fires! This cow-shaped dutch oven would make us the hit of the rendezvous!
Spending time with my family at home…cooking favorite summer meals for them and enjoying backyard pool. I am blessed with 3 little grandchildren so summers are fun with bubbles, popcorn and summer outdoor fun.
Stay-cation, we just stick around home. Go fishing a lot, swimming, playing outside.
I traveled out of state to see my daughter. Please I have few “day-cations” planned (camping, shopping, relaxing).
Unfortunately, we will not be traveling this Summer, but we may be able to go to Cambria just to the North of us for an overnight stay. We live on the Central Coast of California. So, everyone else loves to come here. We have many fine wineries to visit, not to mention, Solvang (Danish Village), Santa Barbara, Morro Bay, Hearst Castle, etc.
Staying home and enjoying swimming, movies and local sites. These are nice vacations too – and usually less laundry!
Stay cation-go to local hotel with indoor pool and go bowling close by and out to eat or order pizza by pool and let kids play
My vacation plans for hot summer days are going to the beach and just relax.
Go to the lake
