We love tools that multi-task in the kitchen.
First, Phyllis talked about using your waffle iron to make paninis.
Now here’s another use for muffin tins that has us all excited! These are little German pancakes – it’s a very eggy batter that puffs up in the oven. They deflate when you take them out, making a little hollow in each one, perfect for a filling like chocolate sauce and bananas, berries and whipped cream, or even something savory like sausage and cheese. We could see having these for breakfast, naturally, but what about for dessert, as the bowl of an ice cream sundae?
We’ve cut out biscuits with a drinking glass, used ice cube trays to freeze tomato paste and baby food, and used jar rings in our slow cooker. What other marvelous things can we do with our ordinary kitchen tools? We want to know!
