Slow Cooker Recipe

Taco Bake

Feature

A couple of weeks ago we made pizza in our slow cookers. Today we will make tacos! It might not look like a taco, but the seasonings are all the same.

This is a great “fake-out” to get the same great taco tastes without the hassle of the various steps involved in taco prep. And, it beats worrying about how many of the taco shells might have broken in the box.

Taco Bake

Sounds good! Like Robin’s idea about substituting salsa for the tomato sauce; I might try wagon wheels rather than shells.

I used the pasta tonight ..it never got bigger but was overcooked in less than 1 1/2 hrs
. didnt like the texture .Next time I would just boil and add the mac , dont need crockpot ..I am gone too long to leave it alone . I may make it again without pasta and use it over taco chips .so they dont get soggy .>

I think I will be using torn corn tortillas instead of the pasta! This sounds delicious! Agreed Robin, salsa! Yum!

I bought the stuff to make this and will make it a stove top meal. I can control the pasta better by boiling it on the stove, and since the beef has to be browned on the stove I might as well do it all that way. Sounds like a great recipe though!

Making this now…just making it all in a large skillet on the stove and am using farafalle pasta instead of shells. Smells wonderful…the kids keep asking when will it be done!

I made this a couple of nights ago and it turned out great. It didn’t really taste like taco’s to me, but delicious none-the-less! I did put un-cooked shells in the slow cooker, and had it on high for 1 1/2 hours. The pasta turned out perfect and it was a hit at home! Great taste, simple and fast directions :)
