Did You See This?
Cow Dutch Oven Giveaway
We really do love our Dutch oven, the original slow-cooker!

So, the big game is decided and it will be a North-East event. It’s almost here! Yes, we are talking about football. Many of us here at The Good Cooking Store are waiting with anticipation for the big day, though we admit that we aren’t quite as excited as we would be if the Philadelphia Eagles were playing!
Either way, many of us are planning football parties here and this is a recipe that we all agree will work wonderfully in our party menus. And in the unlikely event that there are leftovers, this dish also goes great with scrambled eggs as described at the bottom of the recipe.

I guess I’m going to have to post my “Hamburger Dip” recipe. It, too is only 5 ingredients. I call it “Velveeta & Ro-tel on steriods”.
1lb. hamburger
1 1.5 oz. package taco seasoning
1 15 oz. jar salsa con queso
1 15-17 oz. jar salsa
1 10 3/4 oz. can cream of mushroom soup
In a medium skillet, brown meat & drain if greasy. Add taco seasoning and liquid according to package directions. In the meantime, combine con queso, salsa and mushroom soup in 3-quart crock-pot. When the taco meat is done, combine with rest of ingredients and cook on high for 1 hour or until ingredients are combined and heated through, then reduce heat to warm. Serve with tortilla chips or saltine crackers.
My husband has requested this for the Super Bowl for as long as we’ve been married…until I taught him how to make it. Now he makes it.
This recipe won honorable mention in a local newspaper’s annual recipe contest in 1999.
