Farming with horses is making a come-back in the U.S. and around the world.
Each year, there is a big gathering called Horse Progress Days related to all of the techniques and innovations in this field of interest. People swap stories, share tips, and check out new equipment. There’s also lots of food!
Thousands of people, both Amish and non-Amish gathered over the two-day event with some coming from as far away as Europe and Africa where this is a subject of growing interest.
This year, Horse Progress Days took place on an Amish farm a few miles down the road from our little village.
People got there early and many stayed all day, eating heaping plates of food under large white tents before they hurried off to the bull-whip-cracking demonstration or barnyard mule pull.
