One of my favorite traditions is making special meals for our family members’ birthdays. Recently our son-in-law celebrated his birthday, and he asked for some traditional Lancaster County specialties: ham balls (my mother-in-law’s recipe), pasta, soybeans with brown butter (you know about brown butter, right?) and lemon sponge pie. However, he also enjoys a little spice and so he requested a corn muffin recipe that includes jalapenos.
To add seasoning to the entire meal, I used my Peugeot salt and pepper mills that I keep on the ready, right next to the stove. Freshly ground salt and pepper creates a huge impact on the flavor of food.
I also like this particular mill set because Peugeot makes a mill especially for salt granules, and a different one suited for peppercorns. So when you use these two mills, you’re maximizing the flavors of both seasonings.
If you’re not in the habit of adding freshly ground salt and pepper to your cooking, I highly recommend it. Peugeot salt and pepper mills are available in The Good Cooking Store and they do ship! Click here for information on how to contact them.
